UGA Habitat celebrates Earth Day!

Hi Habitaters!

Today UGA Habitat's aluminum can recycling program hosted a recycling toss booth in the "Captain Planet Carnival" Earth Day celebration. The event was organized by the Go Green Alliance and consisted of booths run by several of the environmental groups on campus. For the recycle toss, we decorated one of our cardboard recycling bins and challenged participants to try to toss a crushed can into one of the holes. Many people succeeded and won great prizes, including t-shirts, carabiners, bumper stickers, magnets, and water bottles. We also set up bins around Tate Plaza and Myers Quad to collect aluminum cans to raise money for Habitat. The event was a lot of fun, and we assembled a long list of prospective volunteers for next semester! Many thanks go out to all those who volunteered at the Habitat booth or just dropped by to have some fun!
